Oscillating Beam - Position #1
In position #1 of the Oscillating Balance Beam,
side "A" of the beam is at the top of its stroke and side "B" of the beam is at the bottom of its stroke.
When Side "B" of the beam reaches the bottom of its stroke the pivoting counter weights are mechanically pushed
over center.
When the side "B" counter weight pivots over center it will come to rest on top of the beam,
while the side "A" counter weight (which is forced to move in tandem with side "B") pivots to dangle over the end of
side "A" of the beam.
This side "A" counter weight overhang will cause the force of gravity to begin the side "A" beam downward motion cycle.
Oscillating Beam - Position #2
In position #2 of the Oscillating Balance Beam,
the side "A" counter weight overhang remains in place as the side "A" of the beam continues to move downward.
The Side "B" of the beam will passively raise upward
Oscillating Beam - Position #3
Arriving at position #3 the side "B" of the beam reaches to top of its stroke
While Side "A" of the beam reaches the bottom of its stroke where the pivoting counter weights are mechanically pushed
over center.
The side "A" counter weight pivots over center and it will come to rest on top of the beam,
while the side "B" counter weight (which is forced to move in tandem with side "A") pivots to dangle over the end of
side "B" of the beam.
This side "B" counter weight overhang will cause the force of gravity to begin the side "B" beam downward motion cycle.
Oscillating Beam - Position #4
In position #4 of the Oscillating Balance Beam,
the side "B" counter weight overhang remains in place as the side "B" of the beam continues to move downward.
The Side "A" of the beam will passively raise upward.
